Mainstream materials

  1. Ceramic composite materials

    Aluminum oxide (Al ₂ O3): Low cost, but heavier

    Silicon carbide (SiC): lighter and harder

    Boron carbide (B ₄ C): the strongest ceramic, extremely light but expensive

    Characteristics: Absorbs impact kinetic energy through fragmentation, but has weak resistance to multiple impacts (requires cooperation with PE backboard)

    Purpose: Suitable for various tactical plug boards

  2. Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE)

    Features: 15 times stronger than steel, lightweight

    Disadvantages: Not resistant to high temperatures (softening above 80 ℃), avoiding long-term exposure to sunlight

    Usage: Backboard of ceramic insert board, bulletproof soft board, bulletproof vest, bulletproof helmet, bulletproof shield and other bulletproof products

  3. Aramid fiber

    Features: High tensile strength, high temperature resistance (decomposition temperature of 450 ℃), lighter weight than PE material

    Disadvantage: Cannot be exposed to ultraviolet/humid environments for a long time, it will degrade

    Usage: Backboard of ceramic insert board, bulletproof soft board, bulletproof vest, bulletproof helmet, bulletproof shield and other bulletproof products

  4. Metal materials

    Features: Low cost, resistant to multiple strikes

    Disadvantages: Heavy weight (3 times that of PE), bullet impact can easily cause bouncing or debris splashing (requiring anti stripping coating)

    Usage: bulletproof steel inserts, hard stab resistant clothing, bulletproof steel helmets, bulletproof steel shields and other steel bulletproof products, suitable for training and low budget procurement
