Ceramic materials (alumina, silicon carbide, boron carbide)
Purpose: It is mainly used for high-level protection (such as NIJ IV level) by breaking and dispersing the kinetic energy of the warhead. Boron carbide is the lightest but most expensive, used for special forces.
Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE)
Usage: Lightweight and high-strength, used for bulletproof inserts or helmets, to resist medium and low-speed bullets and fragments.
Composite materials (such as PE/ceramic blends)
Purpose: Combining the hardness of ceramics with the lightweight of PE, it is used for modern tactical equipment.
Typical applications of protective scenarios
1.Military: Ceramic+PE composite insert board (resistant to rifle bullets), paired with aramid vest.
2.Police: aramid or UHMWPE soft bulletproof vest (for handgun bullets).
3.Tactical helmet: UHMWPE or aramid composite material, balancing lightweight and protection.
